But, actually, not always higher than some. This bed is different, and better -- and yes, worth the price. Testimonial at this page. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten. Regular Ortho (3 inch loft) This bed is made with human grade medical foam; it is thick, with emphasis on thick. It is firm, with emphasis on firm, it is not a "soft bed," but its construction is the same as used for humans in need of that "give and resist" support used for people in medical facilities who have need of that type support. The Cost to Ship this Bed is Significant because it is considered Oversized by UPS and you should Consider that in your Purchase, as you will not be refunded shipping costs if you return it or exchange it. In water-proof Green OR Black polyester fabric and thick faux lambswool cream sherpa fleece top. The sherpa fleece is thick and deep, and lined underneath with the treated waterproof fabric in green so accidents don't leak down to the underlying foam body. No matter which side of the bed you let your pet use -- accidents won't leak through. Zippered cover is removable and washable. Washing does not shrink the fabric, if washed cold water, air dry. Handsome Brass zipper. You should note that this is a thick and high bed. It is firm, and it has "give" but it is not soft, does not have a cushiony effect. The cost to ship and return is high; so consider your purchase carefully as shipping is not refunded. Sizes: All beds draw up when filled, and everyone measures differently. Believe us, they do. The Snoozer Super Orthopedic Bed is superior to other brand orthopedic beds in many ways:1) Water Proof fabric -- not just water resistant, but actually water proof. 2) The underlying foam pad is 3.5 " thick convoluted form on each side with a 3" of that being convoluted on each side, for 7" thick total. Others may be 7"-8" 'thick,' but what is the thickness of the convolution form as opposed to the thickness in the core? The convolution thickness is what counts !! 3) Thick faux lambswool fleece, not some skimpy fleece, but a comfortable thick pad of soft sherpa fleeece for your pet on the top. 4) Handsome brass zipper on the cover, not plastic. Quality is remembered long after Price is forgotten. Our prices are reasonable and our quality is great! What gives the Orthopedic Bed, no matter who makes it, its orthopedic properties, is the convoluted egg shell format. Our convolution on this bed is 3" deep on both sides. What do the other brands' convolution format measure? And do they offer a water-proof durable fabric? We do not ship this item overseas to Non-US locations.
