No system is perfect when it comes to either the safety of humans or pets, but always remember, your pet cannot react with the instincts and knowledge that humans have when it comes to sudden stops, rapid turns, etc.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR PET SAFE:  Strap the Lookout (or Perch) to your car seat, using your car's seat belt. You need a harness for your pet.  If you don't have one,  buy it above or at your local pet store. We provide a free "strap" that goes from the harness & attaches to the seat belt which is holding the Lookout to your car seat.

Girth Measurements (Your Dog's Chest)   HOW DO YOU MEASURE "GIRTH" ?????     Use a long tape measure "ribbon like" measurer.  Measure UNDER AND BEHIND your dog's front legs to the top of its back.  Add about 1.5 inches.  That is the dog's "GIRTH." 

 

Our Harness:  Easy-to-use;  Made from strong,  soft nylon webbing with a padded chest strap.  This mixed CHIHUAHUA shown here is about 15 lbs with an 18" girth after adding inches as we suggest

                

Our free strap provided with the Lookouts/Perch hooks at one end to this harness and the other end to the lap part of the seat belt holding the Lookout to your car seat.  It is not necessary to buy or use our Harness with the Lookout or the Perch; any harness will do when combined with our free strap shipped with the Lookouts and Perch.  

*  When you buy a Harness on-line, it is difficult, we know. 
*  Our best advice is: if in doubt get the smaller size, or do not buy it here, buy it at a physical store. 
*  In over 9 years of selling on the Internet we have had maybe 2-3 XSmall Harnesses returned because they were too large.  It is not meant for dogs less than 14 inches girth.
*  We have had  dozens of Small Harnesses returned because the Harness was too big.  So safest bet is if in doubt about the size to buy the XSMALL, unless you are convinced you need the SMALL.  
*  If truly in doubt do not buy it here! Buy it at a store where you can put one on your dog.
