The cover is a water resistant and hair resistant quilt.  Removable, Zippered cover is washable (hand wash, the product is too large for most washing machines; machine low heat dry).  

Removable foam pad body.  

The foam pad is 2 inches thick.  Bolsters around the pad fold up or lie flat giving the pad an expandable surface from the base of 30x40 to 42 x 52.
