Look at the first picture of the Console Lookout below. The front has one strap threaded through the front end which is barely visible in the picture, at the bottom front, hanging over the box. That strap goes under the lid of the Console. The rear of the Lookout has a central safety strap threaded through it. It is sticking up and from that safety strap on either side hang two very long containment straps (not visible). In the middle of that safety strap is what we call a "safety leash strap" with a hook at one end, much like the hook on a leash. That is what is sticking up. Remember these labels for the straps, repeated again below. So we have five straps: The safety strap at the rear; the "safety leash strap" in the middle of it; two containment straps that hang from the safety strap on each side, and one front strap.
