Ours was the first (since 1994) and is patented. It has steadily become more widely known and popular. There are now many copy cats, and similar named products.  But there are major differences between ours and those who copy us.  And reasons our Lookouts^(TM) are better. 1. Safety: Our Lookout is fastened to your car's seat by the lap part of the seat belt, as a person would be. Your pet is then "fastened" to the seat belt via a strap (we provide) which attaches from the seat belt to the harness on your pet. Nothing is perfect, but this is reasonably safe for your pet, and we think, far safer than anything offered elsewhere on the market. Other products may hang it over the top of the car seat, or may fasten the product from behind the product to the seat, (like tying a person to the seat from his back) and then your pet is linked to the car booster seat itself, -- ours fastens the product in front, as you would a person, and your pet is then fastened to the seat belt.  Bottom line:  which do you think is safer?
           No other products fasten that Booster Seat to the car seat and your pet to the seat belt, like our Lookout^(TM) and its strap. That is a patented feature.
2.  Washable: Do you want to be able to wash the seat cover after it has been used for a period of time?  The Lookout has a removable, washable, and replaceable cover.  You can wash it frequently, with care.  You can buy replacements when the cover does wear out, and not have to replace the whole product.
3.  Fit:  Does your pet weigh over 18 lbs?  Or is it tiny - Only 4lbs?   Our Lookouts can accommodate a very small pet of tiny up to a 30 pound pet and can hold several pets in the many sizes on our various model Lookouts.
4.  Made in the USA: Do you want to support overseas manufacture?  Our Lookout is domestically produced in SC by hard-working Americans; many of our competitors' are not.
5.  Convenient add-ons for Travel: Do you want to be able to attach a water and food tray for your pet to use during long trips?  The Lookout has this option.
6.  Storage: Do you want to have storage in the Dog Car Booster Seat? The Lookout gives you that option and a price difference for it.  Don't need it, don't pay for it.
